Uneb Board Chairperson Prof Mary Okwakol hands over UACE 2022 results to State Minister for Higher Education JC Muyingo
Uganda National Examinations Board (Uneb) has withheld results of 113 candidates over suspected examination malpractice in the 2022 Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) examinations.
This was revealed by Uneb executive director and secretary Dan Odongo during the release of the 2022 UACE results at an event in Kampala. Odongo said the affected candidates would be given a fair hearing before a final decision can be taken.
Uneb may decide to release the results if it finds that the candidates in question did not take part in cheating as alleged. The examinations body may also cancel the results of the affected candidates if it proves that they engaged in examination malpractice.
Other candidates and the school authorities may face prosecution in line with the 2021 Uneb Act.
“In accordance with Section 4 (3) of the UNEB Act, 2021, the Board, has withheld results of 113 candidates, and will accord the affected candidates a fair hearing before passing a final verdict,” said Odongo.
Meanwhile, Uneb has revealed that some candidates who scored zero per cent in some subjects gave very shocking answers, with one of them telling examiners that s/he is the stone the builders refused and that the examiners should not waste their time marking her/him. (See Details Here).
