Uganda’s Education Ministry has hired lecturers for government oil school, the Uganda Petroleum Institute Kigumba (UPIK).
Uganda Petroleum Institute Kigumba (UPIK) is a public tertiary institution that began in came into existence following a directive from His 2009 on orders of President Yoweri Museveni who was keen on putting in place a school to support the country’s oil and gas sector.
UPIK was established under section 75 of the Universities and Other Tertiary Institutions by Statutory Instrument No. 31 of 2011 or Establishment of Uganda Petroleum Institute Kigumba.
Over the years, government has been supporting Uganda Petroleum Institute Kigumba (UPIK) like it supports all public universities and tertiary institutions.
The support includes hiring staff from time to time, as the need arises.
The latest appointments of lecturers were picked from applicants who responded to External Advert No.3/2025 for Personnel in Uganda Petroleum Institute Kigumba (UPIK), in the Department of University Education and Training under the Ministry of Education and Sports (MoES).
The appointed staff have been advised to pick their notification letters from the Education Service Commission (ESC) Registry on May 13, 2026.
Successful candidates will be required to present their national IDs before being handled their notification letters.
