Opposition leader Dr Kizza Besigye has suggested that there could be unhappiness and discontent in President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni’s cabinet after some ministers expressed interest in the speakership.
On March 22, four ministers were among 13 MPs that submitted their expression of interest letters to the ruling NRM party’s Electoral Commission (EC) for the speaker position. (Read Story Here).
The four are: health minister Dr Jane Ruth Aceng, junior defence minister Jacob Oboth, deputy attorney general Jackson Kafuuzi and sports minister Hamson Obua.
Now, Besigye says ministers could be discontented.
“Mr Museveni’s Ministers must be an unhappy lot! With many resigning, at no/short notice to contest for Speakership,” wrote Besigye.
“Couldn’t have been working on anything serious!”
