Controversial TV presenter Basajja Mivule is formally a member of President Yoweri Museveni ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) after ditching Bobi Wine’s National Unity Platform (NUP).
On August 31, NRM-leaning events promoter and Museveni mobiliser Balaam Barugahara unveiled Mivule as a ruling party member at Eureka Hotel in Ntinda in Kampala.
But Mivule insisted he would be part of Museveni’s camp, but not NRM.
“I am not joining NRM but going to work with President Museveni,” Mivule said.
He also denied Museveni bribed him to leave Bobi Wine and NUP.
“If I ever get that money, I will call you [reporters] and share with you,” he vowed.
At the start of August 2020, Muvule joined NUP following his arrest for uttering sectarian statements widely shared online.
But recently, Mivule started blasting Bobi Wine and NUP, saying the Kyadondo East MP would never be president.
