Bobi Wine dares EC, UNEB to release Museveni, Janet academic papers

Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine has challenged the Electoral Commission (EC) and Uganda National Examinations Board (Uneb) to release President Yoweri Museveni’s and wife Janet Museveni’s academic papers.

While addressing reporters in Kampala on August 31, Bobi Wine clarified on his academic credentials, and dared the EC and Uneb to also share President Museveni’s and Janet’s education certificates.

Bobi Wine’s demand to Uneb and EC came days after his ally and city lawyer Muwada Nkunyinji petitioned the commission to release Museveni’s papers.

It also happened on the day lawyer Male Mabirizi sued Bobi Wine for lying about his age.

Bobi now says the EC should expedite the process of releasing the Musevenis’ papers the same way the elections body quickly gave Mabirizi copies of his academic documents.

”Regarding the Electoral Commission, UNEB and other state institutions, I am aware that several lawyers and private individuals have written asking for information regarding the academic papers of President Museveni, his wife and several other NRM ministers,” observed Bobi Wine.

“You have already taken a much longer time to respond to their request than the time you took to release my academic papers!”

He added that Uneb and the EC should not stand in Ugandans’ way of ascertaining Museveni’s nationality, age and academic qualifications.

“I am challenging you to release them with the same urgency since you claim to be acting within the law and independently,” he dared.

“Ugandans want to be sure that indeed, President Museveni has the qualifications he claims to have, that he was born when he claims to have been born and that he is in fact a Ugandan,  this is a debate that has raged on for years.”
