Bobi Wine speaking to Aljazeera
Robert Kyagulanyi, aka Bobi Wine, the National Unity Platform (NUP) president, says his home has been broken into, his family members beaten and his wife Barbie Itungo Kyagulanyi isolated.
He shared on social media that a group of masked, armed soldiers were behind the alleged attack at his Magere home. The intentions of the soldiers are still unclear, Bobi Wine added
“A group of masked, armed soldiers has just broken into our house and beaten up my family members. They have currently isolated my wife, Barbie Kyagulanyi, alone. Their intentions are unclear,” he wrote on social media.
This incident follows the January 15 presidential election, where Bobi Wine was the main challenger to President Yoweri Museveni.
Museveni won by a landslide. Bobi Wine alleged widespread fraud and has been in hiding since then. His party, NUP, has condemned the alleged actions, calling for accountability and respect for constitutional protections.
The situation has sparked concerns over human rights and safety, with supporters and opposition figures demanding answers.
Bobi Wine has revealed his next plan, answering questions on his call for protests, challenging results in the Supreme Court, and his hiding, as detailed Here.
