When we find ourselves disagreeable on anything in our midst, we must find mechanisms for mature resolution; which is different from grandstanding and desire to settle political scores, at the expense of reputations of comrades with whom we struggle to offer the country better leadership.

Do you hold the President at ransom because of what you have done with him? Do you have to take advantage of what you are doing with the President to abuse office, to conflict in matters that the public has interests in and that are noble to the Public?

When Mpuuga and other hounds in DP destroyed their marriage to Norbert Mao, and joined NUP to enter parliament, they first paralysed him beyond repair, and many laughed. To survive, Kyagulanyi may have to kick them out soonest. Kyagulanyi needs to learn NRM’s lesson with its ‘rebel’ MPs initially kept in parliament by a scheming Speaker, and Courts of law, and who have won every reelection since then.

The hashtag parliamentary exhibition has caused a storm on social media. The speaker of our parliament, Hon. Anita Among, and her apparatchik have been caught with their fingers deep inside the national pie. The scale, scope and sheer crass materialism with which she has abused public funds is as revolting as it is entertaining. To add salt to this entertaining show, opposition MPs have also been sharing in this loot. Many angry Ugandans are indulging in self righteous indignation. For me, this is politics, especially poor country politics, 101. I will come back to this later.

On 6th May, 2022 there was a meeting of the Parliamentary Commission attended by Ms. Anitah Among, Hon. Mpuuga and the three NRM Commissioners of Parliament. This was two months after Hon. Zaake was illegally removed from that position. In that meeting, these leaders awarded themselves a collective amount of 1.7 billion shillings. Hon. Mpuuga was allocated 500 million shillings, while the three others were each awarded 400 million shillings.

After some contemplation and observation, I have come to the conclusion that the MK Project (a hodgepodge ensemble that aspires to install so called First Son, Muhoozi Kainerugaba, as successor to Yoweri Museveni) is a hoax and major diversion, orchestrated by the latter, with the former as an excited spoilt kid, buoyed by a brazen cast of unsophisticated fortune hunters, brazen wheeler dealers, ignorant sycophants, and callous felons.

Back to Americans and the lessons in hypocrisy. Former Iranian President Hassan Rouhani once said, “A constructive approach to diplomacy doesn’t mean relinquishing one’s rights but to engage with a counterpart on equal and mutual respect, to address shared concerns and achieve shared objectives.” In the week that US government delivered more financial, lethal military aid, political and diplomatic cover for Israel’s indiscriminate genocidal war on Palestinians most of them little children in the tiny Gaza Strip, Secretary of State Antony Blinken also conveyed additional rebuke announcing a freeze on issuance of travel visas for Uganda government officials allegedly involved in human rights abuses.
