Uganda’s Covid19 herbal medicine Covidex lead innovator Prof Patrick Engeu Ogwang has revealed he and first son Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba stayed in the same house during their high school days at St Mary’s College, Kisubi (SMACK).
According to Prof Ogwang, first son Kainerugaba, now commander Land Forces in the UPDF, was a year ahead of him.
Ogwang says it took him about a fortnight to realise he was staying in the same house with the first son.
Mugwanya House it was.
“I was in S5 in St Mary’s College Kisubi, his son Kainerugaba Muhoozi was in that school; we were in the same house, Mugwanya House. He was in S6, I was in S5, and we were in the same long room,” Prof Ogwang told Capital FM’s Desert Island Discs at the weekend.
“I took like two weeks without knowing I was sleeping in the same room with a president’s son.”
The pharmacy professor also remembers making an experiment presentation before the president at the same school where the first son was a student.
“One day the president came for the PTA day. I had designed a very good experiment, in Physics, of generating electricity from oranges. So, I was selected to demonstrate to the president,” Ogwang narrated.
“When he came, I put my two oranges there, and electrodes and then the voltmeter to measure the voltage. That’s how I met him that time. But now, I am no longer in physics.”
