An evening explosion at a Shell/Vivo fuel depot in Namuwongo, Kampala has left a number of people with serious injuries.
The explosion happened at the depot located on Seventh Street in the Namuwongo industrial area.
A number of people were rescued alive by emergency service providers such as Red Cross.
The number of those who sustained injuries was unknown by publication time.
Uganda Police Force’s Fire Brigade also made its way to the scene of the explosion to put out the fire.
Security agencies and the depot managers were yet to speak on the cause of the explosion.
