FEES TIME: Here’s How Much Senior One Students Joining Uganda’s Top Schools Will Pay in 2024

It is fees time for parents, guardians and students. In this report, The Pearl Times shows you how much Senior One Students joining Uganda’s top schools will pay in 2024.

In a liberalized economy that Uganda is, the issue of school fees keeps getting complicated for most parents who are used to relatively low fees in government-run but mostly poor quality public schools under the Universal Primary Education (UPE) and Universal Secondary Education (USE).

As demand for quality education grows, top Ugandan schools (top in terms of performance in national exams) are not cutting their fees in an economy that is on its knees.

Even mushrooming private schools are not offering the much-need sigh of relief as they are focusing on grades, which then become a bait for high school fees.

In Kampala and Entebbe where the first lady and education minister, Janet Museveni, sits, pronouncements on regulation of fees are not helping the situation as school heads and education entrepreneurs ignore them.
