First son and Special Forces Command (SFC) boss Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba was vaccinated with the Covid19 AstraZeneca jab as he opened the vaccination exercise for the elite force.
Uganda started Covid19 vaccination last week.
Health minister Dr Jane Ruth Aceng presided over the vaccination launch, being the first to take the jab.
On March 14, President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni explained why he and first lady Janet were yet to take the Covid19 vaccine.
Lt Gen Kainerugaba, also his father’s senior advisor on special operations, become the first member of the Museveni family to take the AstraZeneca vaccine jab.
“Today, it was my pleasure to open the covid-19 vaccination campaign within SFC by taking my first shot of AstraZeneca vaccine. I thank H.E Kaguta Museveni, the Ministry of Health and our development partners for the quick acquisition and roll out of this vaccine,” Kainerugaba said after taking the jab.
