FRESH WOUNDS: Top NUP Officials Dumped in Kasese after Weeks of Detention, Alleged Torture Over ‘Subversive Activities’

At least three supporters of opposition NUP, including Samuel Masereka, the registrar for Kasese, have been dumped in their home district, according to party leader Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine.

Now, Bobi Wine says Masereka and his colleagues were detained at the Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI) in Mbuya before being taken to Kireka where they were charged with engaging in subversive activities.

According to the NUP leader, the trio underwent ‘severe torture’ for a period of three weeks before being released on bond, and ordered not to show their wounds to anyone.

“After 21 days of severe torture at CMI Mbuya, Kasese NUP Registrar Samuel Masereka & two others were taken to Kireka, charged with ‘subversive activities’ and released on bond. These are pictures of Masereka’s body upon release!” claimed Bobi Wine.

“The three were driven in a drone and dumped in Kasese at 6:00pm yesterday. Ordered not to talk to, or show the torture wounds to the press. For 21 days, the interrogation has been on why they support and mobilise for NUP in Kasese.”
