Charles Twine
Charles Mansio Twine, the spokesperson of the Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID), is nursing wounds of defeat after he lost his election bid to the Uganda Management Institute (UMI) Alumni Association executive.
About 500 UMI Alumni met to elect a new executive for their association at the institute’s main campus in Kampala on April 29.
Former internal affairs ministry spokesperson Jacob Siminyu was the presiding officer for the elections.
CID’s Twine vied for the association vice president position and lost very badly.
The race for the vice president attracted four contestants.
Twine, who managed only 22 votes, came last.
Carol Mugide got 159 votes to emerge winner.
She was followed by Elizabeth Wanyama with 147 and Rinah Nakintu with 71.
The new executive will serve a three-year term.
