Former Spark TV entertainment presenter Miles Rwamiti has fired back at Ugandans laughing at him over his loss in the Hoima East parliamentary election.
Under the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) ticket, Rwamiti garnered only 149 votes.
Some people, including entertainment critic Jenkins Mukasa, have come out to criticize him for biting more than he could chew.
But Rwamiti has lashed at such critics, calling them desperate and idle.
“Why waste your time on social media while minding a lot about our privacy? Anyways, I don’t blame you because many of you are desperate,” Rwamiti told Spark TV.
“Some of you cannot even afford Shs3m to contest for an MP seat.”
He noted that while some politicians may ignore such mockery, others would be glad to hit back.
“You need to stop mocking candidates who didn’t make it to the 11th parliament. I may give it a damn but some of my colleagues can’t – mention the likes of Kato Lubwama who is likely to die of high blood pressure because he was already sick,” he said.
“We will be left with no choice but to start abusing you back because if you can’t vote for me, keep your vote to yourself instead of laughing at me and criticizing me.”
He reminded people that voters are unpredictable and would not be trusted since they even rejected bigwigs like singer Joseph Mayanja aka Jose Chameleone.
He vowed to “come back big and better” in the 2026 parliamentary elections.
