Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga says kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II was not poisoned but is suffering from allergies that occasion breathing difficulties
Buganda Kingdom prime minister Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga has dismissed as baseless rumors that Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II was poisoned.
Hours after the Kabaka appeared frail and sick for his 66th birthday celebration on April 13, some Ugandans spread the conspiracy theory that poisoning was the cause of his health condition.
But besides explaining the Kabaka’s health condition in his April 16 address, Katikkiro Mayiga rules out poisoning.
“The rumors going around that the Kabaka was poisoned are false,” said in an address at Bulange, Mengo.
He urged the Kabaka’s subjects to ignore the rumors which he said were aimed at causing “undue anxiety.”
