The Education Service Commission (ESC) has released the lists with names of teachers confirmed on government payroll – including four dead by time of time of confirmation.
For the deceased, the confirmation is posthumous and they will be replaced by other living candidates in another recruitment process.
Posthumous confirmation cases include Byaruhanga Kifeefe Fred, who was supposed to be Assistant Education Officer for Kitagwenda High School in Ibanda District; and Okot Richard, who was supposed to be a Lecturer at Uganda Technical College Kicwamba in Kabarole District.
The list of posthumous confirmation cases also includes Ekwang John Bosco who was supposed to be an Assistant Education Officer at Akokoro SS in Apac District; and Mwidu James Stephen Wunyi, who was supposed to be an Assistant Education Officer at Kibale SS in Pallisa District.
Those who have been confirmed have been advised to pick their confirmation letters from the Education Ministry’s Permanent Secretary.
“The Secretary, Education Service Commission informs Teaching and Non-Teaching Personnel whose names appear in the lists attached that they have been CONFIRMED IN SERVICE,” announced acting ESC secretary Mohammed Kaaya.
“The concerned personnel are requested to contact the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education and Sports for issuance of relevant letters.”
The list also includes some non-teaching staff like office typists, enrolled nurses and laboratory assistants.
