Uganda Police Force (UPF) chief IGP Martins Okoth Ochola has transferred a number of officers in latest changes in the administration and command of the law and order enforcement agency.
Inspector General of Police Ochola has appointed Mark Odongo the new commandant of the Special Investigations Division (SID) based at Kireka.
The police chief also picked Venus Tumuhimbise as the new Deputy Director of the Kibuli-based Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID). In the same unit, Beata Chelimo will be the new Deputy Director in charge of Economic Fraud and Anti-Corruption. Ochola sent Paul Kato to the Anti-Money Laundering Taskforce.
The police boss also transferred Julius Twinomujuni from the Anti-Corruption Desk to the Ministry of Internal Affairs where he will be in charge of fighting human trafficking.
Ochola also shuffle police commanders. He appointed Moses Sserunjogi as the Busoga North Regional Police Commander.
Ibrahim Saiga will now head to Kigezi as the Regional Police Commander.
Michael Kasigaire was sent to Kibuku as District Police Commander (DPC).
Damian Katwesigye is the new Nebbi District Police Commander.
Bryan Ampaire will head to Nakasongola as DPC, taking over from Philip Mukasa who is on suspension.
Meanwhile, Patrick Onyango will retain his job as the Kampala Metropolitan Police (KMP) spokesperson.
