Muhoozi Kainerugaba
First son, chief of defence forces (CDF) and chairman of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) Gen Muhoozi Keinerugaba has issued NRA-like numbers to PLU Central Committee members.
The numbers which begin with PO (Patriotic Officer) resemble those of ROs (Resistance Officers) of President Yoweri Museveni’s National Resistance Army (NRA) that took power in 1986 after a bush war.
The initial batch of PO numbers were given to PLU founders and senior members.
“The chairman of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) Gen. Muhoozi Keinerugaba, has issued the following numbers to PLU members. These numbers reflect the historic role played by each member in the founding of the organization and also their seniority. PO stands for Patriotic Officer,” explained Andrew Mwenda in an announcement issued on March 20, 2026.
“The numbers (for now) cover members of the Central Committee, the top governing body of the organization. More numbers will be issued in due course for none CC members.”
Meanwhile, Muhoozi recently hinted on Gen Salim Saleh succeeding Museveni. (See Details Here).
