LIST: See Names of Students Admitted on Government Sponsorship (National Merit) at Kabale University for 2025-2026 Academic Year

The list showing the names of students admitted on government sponsorship under the national merit scheme at Kabale University has been released. 

Every year, Government of Uganda sponsors about 4,000 students to pursue university education at public universities. But over 70 per cent of those scholarships have started going to science-based courses or academic programs.

Apart from Kabale University, other public universities include Makerere University, MUBS, Gulu University, Kyambogo University, Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST), Muni University, Busitema University, Lira University, Soroti University and Mountains of the Moon University.

While a number of public universities released the lists of students admitted on government sponsorship under the national merit scheme, Kabale University went into the Easter break without releasing the list. Now, the Academic Registrar of the southwestern Uganda-based higher learning institution has released the list of qualifying students.

“The Office of the Academic Registrar at Kabale University has officially released the Government Sponsorship Admission List for the Academic Year 2025/2026,” the university announced.

“Congratulations to all the students who have been admitted to various academic programmes across disciplines including Medicine, Engineering, Education, Agriculture and more.”

At least 78 students were lucky to have landed the government scholarships given their performance in A-level exams, among other factors that contribute to cutoff points.

Students admitted on government sponsorship at Kabale University will pursue courses or academic programs such as Bachelor of anaesthesia and critical care medicine, Bachelor of electrical engineering, Bachelor of computer science, Bachelor of applied design and fine art, and Bachelor of science with education – biological.

Other government students will be aiming at earning degrees such as Bachelor of science with education – physical, Bachelor of environmental science, Bachelor of mechanical engineering, Bachelor of nursing science, Bachelor of medicine and bachelor of surgery, Bachelor of science in agriculture and Bachelor of science with education – economics.
