Newly appointed Honorary consul of Oman to Uganda Inga Kutesa, son to foreign affairs minister Sam Kutesa, has revealed his plan for the job.
Last week, Inga presented his credentials to junior foreign affairs minister in charge of international relations Henry Okello Oryem, who is supervised by his father Kutesa.
Inga has told government newspaper New Vision that he was humbled by appointment.
He also told the same government publication of his plans.
That his key focus will be on promotion of trade and investment in the area of agriculture, tourism, and oil and gas between Oman, with about five million people, and Uganda, with over 40 million people.
He also vowed to help solve the challenges faced by nkuba kyeyos in Oman.
He noted that he would “closely work with line labour ministries to iron out these challenges” such as human trafficking and exploitation.
