TAKEOVER AHEAD: Former presidential candidate Willy Mayambala has asked the Supreme Court to allow him ‘inherit’ National Unity Platform (NUP) leader Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine’s petition.
Bobi Wine has already started on the process to withdraw his case from the Supreme Court over judges’ alleged bias.
Although he trailed the 10 other candidates in the presidential race, Mayambala has asked to inherit Bobi’s petition.
“I write to object to the withdrawal of the presidential petition formerly logged in by Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu against several defendants as outlined in his petition,” Mayambala informed Chief Justice Alfonse Owiny Dollo in a letter dated February 25.
“I as well write to express interest in taking on the presidential petition and seek to inherit the petition.”
Mayambala has now asked the highest court in the land to grant him permission and the necessary information on procedures to be followed to take over the case.
“I wish to re-affirm that I presidential candidate Willy Mayambala have great interest in the presidential petition going on and being listened to by the honorable court , please me the necessary permission to go on.”
