PHOTOS: Museveni appears in public hours after claims he was airlifted to Germany; haters wishing him sickness, death bury heads in shame

Uganda’s President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni appeared in public for the World Health Summit at Munyonyo Commonwealth Resort hours after social media claimed he was airlifted to Germany in critical condition, making his haters celebrate his sickness, and others his ‘looming death.’

A tweet fabricated under a deep fake NTV Uganda handle claimed Museveni, 76, had been airlifted to Germany after suffering breathing complications occassioned by Covid19.

Uganda is currently facing a Covid19 crisis fuelled by new strains that have caused a spike in cases and deaths.

The landlocked impoverished East African nation’s healthcare system has crumbled, with patients dying due to lack of medical oxygen and equiped private hospitals’ exorbitant fees leaving the poor with no option but to die.

On many occasions, top government officials, including health ministers, fly out for treatment.

So, the fabricators of Museveni’s sickness reports chose Germany.

Yet the president appeared health at a summit, confirming an earlier response by State House.

Museveni opened the World Health Summit that will run from June 27 through June 30.

The World Health Summit will, among others, see African health ministers discuss the Covid19 pandemic, touching on issues like vaccine equity.

These photos taken by PPU show Museveni with his wife Janet and other dignitaries at the Munyonyo Commonwealth Resort World Health Summit.

Those that has started celebrating the president’s rumored sickness and death have since buried their heads in embarrassment.
