Outgoing Prime Minister Dr Livingstone Ruhakana Rugunda is set to officially hand over office to Robinah Nabbanja.
President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni appointed Nabbanja prime minister on June 08 when he unveiled his cabinet list.
Rugunda will serve as a special envoy in the office of the president.
Parliament approved Nabbanja, the Kakumiro District Woman MP, as Prime Minister last week.
She took oath of office on June 21 at Kololo Independence Grounds.
Now, according to office of the prime minister (OPM) head of communications Julius Mucunguzi, Rugunda will hand over to Nabbanja today June 22 morning.
“Former Prime Minister Rt Hon Ndugu Dr Ruhakana Rugunda will this morning officially handover office to the new Prime Minister, Rt Hon Robinah Nabbanja,” said Mucunguzi.
The event starts at 10am.”
Mucunguzi added the handover will happen via Zoom.
Nabbanja’s first assignment as Prime Minister is the handling of relief extension to the vulnerable urban poor following President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni’s declaration of a total lockdown on June 18.
