The Member of Parliament Ibanda Municipality Tarsis Rwaburindori has urged locals to plant trees on top of hills to avoid dangers of Climate Change.
Rwaburindori who was giving out shs 1M to flood victims in Kyaruhanga II cell in Ibanda Municipality on Tuesday said locals should focus on growing cash crops and planting trees on top of the hills in the area to avoid floods in future.
“I urge the locals to continue farming with emphasis on growing coffee and trees on top of the hills and leaving terracing between the gardens to avoid floods” said Rwaburindoore
Rwaburindori said the money he has donated will help the victims to repair their destroyed structures and food for their families.
Evan Ayesiga, the catechist at Kyaruhanga Church of Uganda of Northwest Ankole Diocese assisted victims with clothing, Soap, Salt, Mattresses and 500 bags of Maize floor each of 5kg.
