A fire gutted a remaining section of the Rwenzururu Kingdom palace in Kasese January 27 night.
The burnt part has survived the military raid of 2016.
Obusinga bwa Rwenzururu (OBR) prime Minister Joseph Kule Muranga said the kingdom had learnt of the fire January 28 morning.
Prime Minister Muranga called for calm, adding that the King, Omusinga Charles Wesley Mumbere Iremangoma was concerned criminals could be plotting to dent the relationship between the state and the cultural institution.
“The act is aimed at provoking the OBR leadership and government who are both currently involved in peace negotiations,” Muranga quoted Omusinga Mumbere as saying.
