Ggaba Early Childhood Centre in Kampala
At least four children were killed at a Kampala Day Care, Kampala Metropolitan Police has confirmed. The incident happened at Ggaba Early Childhood Development Program School in Makindye Division of the capital Kampala.
The killer, a male, gained access to the daycare centre where he stabbed and killed four children.
The suspect has been arrested. Police say the motive behind the killings is not yet known but detectives are expected to quiz the suspect for clues and evidence that will be used against him in court.
“We confirm a tragic incident at the Ggaba Early Childhood Development Program school, in Makindye Division Kampala City where a male suspect brutally stabbed and killed four juveniles,” said Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Rachel Kawala on Thursday, April 02, 2026.
“The suspect has been apprehended, and the motive behind the killings is still under investigation. Further details will be provided in due course.”
