The deputy executivec director of the Uganda Media Center, Col Shaban Bantariza, is dead.
Medical personnel at the Mulago National Referral Hospital pronounced Bantariza dead early October 27 morning.
The deputy government spokesperson had been admitted at the national referral since October 25 night.
The former head of the Kyankwanzi-based National Leadership Institute (Nali), Bantariza had been under the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for most of the time he spent at Mulago.
He would slip into coma, losing the battle, according to an announcement made by his boss Ofwono Opondo.
“SAD NEWS: The Executive Director, Ofwono Opondo, with deep sorrow announces the death of his Deputy, Col Shaban Bantariza that occurred early this morning at Mulago Hospital where he had been in admission since Sunday evening with hypertension,” read a statement from the Uganda Media Center.
