Veteran opposition leader Dr Kizza Besigye has castigated President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni for yawning and appearing sleepy during his February 13 night security address.
A visibly tired Museveni spoke about the state of security in the country, assuring Ugandans all missing people would be accounted for.
But at some point, Museveni had to tell those behind cameras to focus elsewhere as he either gulped from his mug.
At one point, a yawn was caught on camera — and it appeared too late for the media team to switch elsewhere.
This was not the first time Museveni yawned, or appeared sleepy and tired during a national address.
The 76-year-old was severally captured yawning or appearing tired during the numerous lengthy Covid19 addresses.
After the address, Besigye called out Museveni for yawning, and for admitting that his government had kidnapped Ugandans.
“A sleepy and yawning Mr Museveni has arrogantly confirmed in a live TV address that, both, before and after the just ended Uganda general election, he oversaw the violation of Uganda’s Constitution and laws on Human Rights and Freedoms!” wrote Besigye.
“Confirms kidnappings, illegal detentions.”
