Main opposition National Unity Platform (NUP) leader Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine’s son Solomon Kampala has doubted Muhoozi’s capacity to rule Uganda after Museveni.
Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba is the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) for the Ugandan army, the UPDF, son to long serving Ugandan leader Yoweri Museveni, and the president’s senior advisor on special operations.
Muhoozi, who also heads the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), claimed that he and his group will succeed Museveni when he leaves power.
The military chief also claimed it his rise to rule Uganda had a divine angle to it, warning against those opposed to him taking over.
“After Mzee Museveni, We shall take charge of the country, that is not only our birthright but our God right!! It is inevitable. And we shall not shrink from that responsibility!” he wrote.
“Let us see those who will wage war against the will of Almighty God.”
In 2013, former spymaster Gen David Sejusa (previously David Tinyefuuza) claimed there was a plan to eliminate military and government officials opposed to the so-called Muhoozi Project where son would replace father.
Years later, Muhoozi claimed that while his enemies wanted the so-called Muhoozi to be a curse, it had turned into a blessing.
Now, Solomon Kampala has warned that Muhoozi’s presidency would drag Uganda backwards.
“Should Muhoozi inherit power from his father, Uganda will be plunged into a crisis unlike anything in its history,” Solomon Kampala wrote, further alleging that “the man is profoundly incompetent. He cannot run 1/1000th of an army, let alone a nation.”
Muhoozi also warned those pushing the idea of Muhoozi taking over from Museveni to be careful.
“As for those quietly contesting and plotting from the inside, and those building their careers on his coattails; watch your necks,” Solomon Kampala warned.
“He is just like his father but without the education. This means that he does any … thing without second thought.”
In Solomon Kampala’s view, Muhoozi “recognizes no loyalty or friendship. Only power and praise.”
Solomon Kampala’s father Bobi Wine has previously told Muhoozi he can only inherit Museveni’s cows, as reported Here.
Meanwhile, Muhoozi recently hinted on Salim Saleh being the one to take over from Museveni, even as some called on Museveni to appoint Muhoozi as his vice president in what would appear as the final phase of ‘Muhoozi Project.’ (See Details Here and There).
