State House’s Health Monitoring Unit has cleared the air on reports that the arrest, detention and interrogation of Mulago National Referral Hospital Dr Baterana Byarugaba have been engineered by the mafia.
Operatives from the health monitoring unit arrested Dr Byarugaba on March 01. (Read Story Here).
On March 02, Dr Warren Namara, the head of State House’s Health Monitoring Unit explained the charges against the embattled Mulago boss. (Read Story Here).
There had been reports that a mafia gang at the ministry of health didn’t want Dr Byarugaba to keep his job at the national referral hospital.
That there have been serious officials between top officials at Mulago and those at the ministry.
Byarugaba has been Mulago ED for 19 years.
But Dr Namara has rubbished claims that the arrest of the Mulago boss was engineered by heath ministry officials fighting Byarugaba.
He described the reports as mere “speculation.”
“We do not fight people’s wars,” said Dr Namara. “If people have wars, let them fight for themselves.”
