Uganda Police Force has charged Hussein Ismael Sserubula and Yusuf Siraji Nyanzi with the murder of transport and works minister Gen Edward Katumba Wamala’s daughter Brenda Nantongo and driver Haruna Kayondo contrary to sections 188 and 189 of the Penal Code Act.
Sserubula aka Imamu Muto, 38, is a Muganda Bodaboda rider and a resident of Nakuwadde, Nakabugo, Bulenga, Wakiso District.
Nyanzi, 46, is a Muganda herbalist and a resident of Kyanja Village, Nakawa Division, Kampala District
The June 01 morning murder happened along Kisota Road in Kisaasi Central Zone, Kampala.
The duo and others still at large also face the charge of attempted murder of Gen Katumba Wamala contrary to section 204(a) of the Penal Code Act.
Wamala sustained injuries during the shooting.
The directorate of public prosecutions (DPP) has sanctioned the files of Sserubula and Nyanzi after the Criminal Investigations Directorate at Kira Road preferred the charges against the two.
