At least three UPDF soldiers and two police officers sustained injuries on December 21 as they chased main opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) presidential candidate Patrick Oboi Amuriat (POA).
Earlier, police and military attempted to block Amuriat from campaigning in Kyegegwa Town Council but the defiant politicians outsmarted security and showed up in the town.
Security officers wanted Amuriat to campaign in the villages, not in Kyegegwa Town.
But he minutes later appeared in the urban centre.
In the chase after him, a security vehicle plunged into a swamp, leaving police and UPDF officers injures.
Amuriat and FDC national chairman Wasswa Biriggwa then helped carry the injured onto vehicles to transport them to hospitals for further medical attention.
On December 21, Amuriat had planned campaigns in Kyegegwa, Kyenjojo and Kamwenge.
