Ahead of the release of UCE 2024 results, assessment body Uganda National Examinations Board (Uneb) says it will block schools with debts from accessing results of their candidates.
It is expected that next week, Uneb and Education Minister Janet Museveni will officially release the results from Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) examinations conducted in 2024.
In 2024, up to 379,620 candidates registered to sit end of O-level (senior Four – S4) exams. This figure included 369,477 who registered for the New Lower Secondary Curriculum (NLSC) and 10,143 for the UCE transitional examinations.
Uneb charges schools or examination centres registration fees for each candidate for all the national examinations it conducts. For each UCE candidate, Uneb charges Shs164,000, and an additional fee of Sh15,000 for each private candidate.
Other fees may be charged for late registration, according to a registration fees structure seen by The Pearl Times.
These include: amendment fees, transfer fees for candidates, and undeclared private candidates’ fees.
Now, ahead of UCE 2024 release, Uneb had made it clear to all heads of Uneb centres that they will not get results for their schools until they had cleared all their outstanding balances.
“To all Heads of UCE 2024 Centers, you are advised to settle all Outstanding invoices on the EREG-PORTAL to avoid being Blocked from receiving 2024 Results, at the time of release,” the assessment body stated.
“No results shall be issued without total debt settlement.”
