Supporters of Bobi Wine cheer him after Saturday show on CBS FM.
Supporters of presidential hopeful Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine gave him an encouraging reception as he left CBS FM on Saturday.
The Kyadondo East MP had gone to the Buganda Kingdom station for a talk show.
His supporters waited outside to express support for the singer-turned-politician.
They chanted his slogans and encouraged him to continue with his presidential bid.
Bobi Wine is the official People Power pressure group flag bearer for the race against President Yoweri Museveni.
Museveni, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) sole candidate, has ruled Uganda since 1986.
Bobi Wine, 38, was born four years before Museveni took power after a five-year bush war.
At the same place where supporters warmly welcomed Bobi Wine, opposition leader Col (Rtd) Dr Kizza Besigye was not lucky.
In March 2019, some people attacked Besigye outside CBS.
They told Besigye to quit politics and back Bobi Wine since he had contested four times and failed to beat Museveni.
Bobi Wine condemned the attacks on Dr Besigye.
The two recently rallied other political groups to form the United Forces of Change under which they are running the No Nedda Campaign.
But Besigye said the coalition was not about the 2021 presidential election.
Outside CBS, Bobi Wine said it was still possible to beat Museveni in an election.
He added that an alliance was also still on the table and talks were underway, but his People Power group was moving ahead with its plan to win next year’s election.
Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) flag bearer Maj Gen (Rtd) Mugisha Muntu recently said he was exploring two options for an alliance.
Another presidential aspirant, Joseph Kabuleta, opted out of any alliance except one in which he is the joint candidate.
