National Unity Platform (NUP) leader Robert Kyagulanyi has castigated President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni’s government for attempting to implicate opposition MPs over alleged involvement in Masaka killings.
At least 26 people have lost their lives in Greater Masaka Area in recent weeks.
Now, as police seeks to get to the root of the matter, it has summoned two NUP MPs for questioning.
And, as expected, Bobi Wine is unhappy.
Bobi Wine says that information minister Chris Baryomunsi’s claim that some politicians were sponsoring the murders in Masaka harbingered persecution of the opposition.
“Countrywomen and men, As predicted, the Museveni regime has actualised their plan of implicating NUP leaders in the ongoing spate of murders in Greater Masaka. When Chris Baryomunsi said this last week, it looked like a joke. But as we now know, anything is possible in Uganda,” said Bobi Wine.
“Anyone can predict where this is going, and what their grand objective is.”
The former Kyadondo MP predicted Museveni’s alleged plan to witch hunt the opposition would not succeed.
“What I can say without contradiction, is that this new attempt will fail, like all those before,” the singer predicted.
“Our people just need to be vigilant and remain alert.”
