Wakiso Police Division has been raided by UPDF soldiers. Its DPC has been detained in the shocking attack. The soldiers of the Ugandan national army who raided the police station also beat up police officers and the Division Police Commander Superintendent of Police (SP) Esther Kiiza.
The raiding UPDF officers were said to be over 20 in number and were armed for the raid at the facility. After raiding the police station and beating up the DPC and other officers, the soldiers fired bullets.
Some of the bullets were aimed at Division Police Commander Superintendent of Police Esther Kiiza’s office while others were fired in the air.
The soldiers were reportedly from the Presidential Task Force on Land Matters and the Environment.
They reportedly were unhappy with SP Kiiza over her role in a land dispute in which they were involved in. The UPDF soldiers accused the Division Police Commander of blocking their efforts to resolve the wrangle.
