MP Francis Mwijukye gifts PM Nabbanja rosary bought from Vatican
Besides being an opposition politician close to Dr Kizza Besigye and a member of the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party, Buhweju County MP Francis Mwijukye is a proud Catholic.
Meeting the Pope is something that MP Mwijukye, a former personal assistant to Dr Besigye, has always held as a great milestone, and he will not any opportunity to travel to the Vatican to meet the Holy Father for some dose of blessings or to just enjoy the spiritual connection there.
When that opportunity recently presented it, Mwijukye grabbed it it and visited the Vatican.
While there, Mwijukye was thinking about the Ugandans dear to him back home and what gifts to bring them from the holy land.
One of the people that the MP from Buhweju was thinking about was Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja, a staunch Catholic and supporter of President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni and his ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM).
PM Nabbanja, also the Kakumiro District Woman MP and head of government business in Parliament, was excited by Mwijukye’s act.
“My brother Hon Francis Mwijukye (MP Buhweju County) has made my day. He brought me a gift of a rosary, all the way from the Vatican, where he was recently. Thank you and God bless you,” said Nabbanja.
It should be remembered that Francis Mwijukye has in recent years survived alleged plots to poison him, as well as accidents that could have claimed his life. (Read Story Here).
