A few years after she quit NTV Uganda as news anchor, Flavia Tumusiime Kabuura is back to Nation Media Group (NMG) Uganda as the new Head of Broadcasting at Nation Media Group Uganda.
Tumusiime replaces Johnson Omollo, who has served as General Manager of Africa Broadcasting Uganda Limited (ABUL), the NMG entity that owns NTVUganda, for seven years.
Omollo had replaced Agnes Konde. And now another woman is taking over at Uganda’s largest independent media group.
NMG Uganda management has confirmed Flavia Tumusiime’s elevation.
“We’re excited to welcome Flavia Tumusiime as the new Head of Broadcasting at Nation Media Group Uganda,” said management.
“Flavia is a seasoned media professional with 22 years of experience across TV, radio, and digital platforms. She brings deep expertise in content strategy, audience engagement, and digital transformation—skills that align perfectly with our vision for the future of broadcast.
“Her work across key African markets, including Uganda, Kenya, Ghana, and South Africa, positions her to lead with insight and innovation. A respected voice in the industry, Flavia’s leadership and passion for impactful storytelling will be a great asset to our team.”
Flavia Tumusiime, who previously worked at Capital FM, has spoken out on her appointment.
“The industry that gave me a career for the past decades, calls again and I’m proud to answer and serve. The work starts now,” she wrote.
Elsewhere in Uganda’s media industry, up to five presenters have quit NBS TV to compete for MP seats. (See Details Here).
