Former Supreme Mufti Sheikh Siliman Kasule Ndirangwa is dead. Sheikh Ndirangwa passed on in the evening of Friday, June 20, 2025.
He was aged 65.
Ndirangwa’s death happened four years since he resigned his position as Supreme Mufti in April 2021.
He had faced fierce disagreements with key leaders in the Muslim faction based at Kibuli.
Ndirangwa was largely out of public view since his resignation, with his focus turning on his successor Supreme Mufti Sheikh Muhammad Galabuzi, was appointed in November 2021.

Career
Teacher at Buziga Islamic Theological Institute Masaka Islamic Centre, and Kabowa Hidaayat Primary School
1992: Appointed Imaam of Kibuli mosque.
Islamic preacher on radio stations such as Sanyu FM, Radio Simba and CBS FM.
Early 2000s: Elected unopposed as a representative of the Kibuli Twaale or County to the Kampala Muslim District Council.
Served as director of Swafah & Mar’wa Hijja and Umrah Travel specializing in facilitating annual Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca.
