President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni’s new cabinet list includes a total of 33 new faces: six cabinet ministers and 27 state ministers, an analysis done by Pearl Times News indicates.
Notable new faces include health expert Dr Monica Musenero (now minister of science, technology and innovation), who will replace former Sheema Municipality (and Sheema North – Sheema District) MP Dr Elioda Tumwesigye.
The list also includes Ruhinda North (Mitooma District) MP Thomas Tayebwa who will become Government Chief Whip.
Former coordinator and administrator in the Office of NRM National Chairman – Kyambogo (ONC) Mariam Dhoka Babalanda is also joining cabinet as Presidency Minister, replacing Esther Mbayo.
Renowned NRM-leaning lawyer Kiryowa Kiwanuka is also replacing William Byaruhanga as Attorney General.
Notable new state ministers include CDF Gen David Muhoozi (UPDF MP), Margaret Muhanga (Fort Portal North), Henry Musaasizi, Amos Lugoloobi, Jacob Oboth Oboth, and FDC strongwoman Joyce Ssebugwawo.
