Thomas Tayebwa Resigns Government Chief Whip Job Ahead of Deputy Speaker Election; Museveni Accepts Tayebwa’s Resignation

Ruhinda North MP Thomas Tayebwa has resigned his job as Government Chief Whip ahead of voting for speaker and deputy speaker.

MPs will today meet at Kololo Grounds to vote for the speaker and deputy speaker. (Read Story Here).

Ahead of the vote, Museveni accepted Tayebwa’s resignation as Government Chief Whip.

“I hereby accept your resignation. I wish to thank you for the service rendered to the country during your term in office,” Museveni wrote to Tayebwa on March 24.

“I wish you victory in the elections and good luck in your endeavors.”
