Top government ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) have made it to the list of over 800 individuals and entities that have defaulted over Shs346bn in taxes.
According a Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development (Mofped) response to Parliament on matters raised regarding the Charter of Fiscal Responsibility for the Financial Year 2021/2022 to 2025/26, individuals and private companies defaulted Shs137bn while MDAs defaulted up to Shs209bn.
The list of defaulters also includes current and former MPs as well as retired judges.
