The list with names of diploma holders admitted on government sponsorship for degree courses at Makerere University for the 2026-2027 academic year has been released.
The Diploma Holders Government Sponsorship Scheme takes not more than five per cent of the total number of slots available for admission to a certain academic program or course in a given intake.
“The Office of Academic Registrar, Makerere University has released lists of Diploma holders admitted under the Government Sponsorship Scheme for the Academic Year 2026/2027,” announced Makerere University while releasing the list.
“Under the Diploma Holders Government Sponsorship Scheme admission does not exceed 5% of the intake capacity to the respective Degree Programme.”
Admission on government sponsorship will be subject to verification of diploma academic transcripts.

In the upcoming academic year (2026-2027), 4,000 students will be admitted on government sponsorship under different scholarship schemes.
These include district quota scheme, disability, diploma, sports and national merit (direct entry) scheme.
