The Health Service Commission (HSC) has released the list with names of over 1500 Ugandans shortlisted for government payroll jobs as nurses, midwives and other health workers.
The 1,567 shortlisted applicants will be subject to aptitude tests for a number of posts as detailed in the HSC External Advert No.1 of Feb2026.
According to the list signed by the permanent secretary and secretary to the Health Service Commission, 27 applicants have been shortlisted for the job of Associate Consultant (general surgery) under U2 scale, 36 have been shortlisted for the job of Senior Medical Laboratory Technician under U4 salary scale, while 201 applicants were shortlisted for the job of Medical Laboratory Technologist under U4 salary scale.
Up to 30 applicants were shortlisted for the job of Anaesthetic Officer under U4 salary scale, 153 were shortlisted for the job of Nursing Officer (Nursing) under U4 salary scale, while 65 were shortlisted for the post of Nursing Officer (Midwifery) under U4 salary scale.
Up to 56 applicants were shortlisted for the post of Medical Social Worker under U4 salary scale, 26 were shortlisted for the post of Medical Records Officer under U4 salary scale, while 69 were shortlisted for the post of Biostatistician under U4 salary scale.
For the post of Medical Laboratory Technician under U5 salary scale, 431 applicants were shortlisted; for the post of Orthopedic Officer under U5 salary scale, 21 applicants were shortlisted, for the post of Assistant Engineering Officer (Biomedical) under U5 salary scale, 23 applicants were shortlisted, while for the post of Assistant Engineering Officer (Civil) under U5 salary scale, 29 candidates were shortlisted.
For the post of Assistant Medical Records Officer under U5 salary scale, 36 applicants were shortlisted, for the post of Enrolled Midwife under U7 salary scale, 256 applicants were shortlisted, for the post of Donor Clerk under U7 salary scale, 83 candidates were shortlisted.
