The Ministry of Education and Sports, through the Education Service Commission (ESC) has released the list with names of teachers shortlisted for government payroll jobs as headteachers deputy headteachers of seed schools.
The shortlisted candidates were among those who had applied for the jobs in December 2025 and in an addendum advert in February 2026.
The jobs will be in Uganda Intergovernmental Fiscal Transfers Program (UGIFT) secondary schools across the country.
“The Secretary, Education Service Commission informs Applicants who responded to the following Adverts for the posts of Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher: Internal Advert No. 05/2025 (22nd December 2025), and Addendum to Internal Advert No. 5/2025 (2 February 2026), for UGIFT Seed Schools, Ministry of Education and Sports, that the shortlist for the competence test is out,” noted Dr Asuman Lukwago, the Permanent Secretary, Education Service Commission.
Dr Lukwago further noted that the competence tests for shortlisted candidates will take place on Monday, May 4, 2026, starting at 08:00 am at Lubiri Senior Secondary School, Kampala.
“Each shortlisted candidate should come along with a National Identity Card and a pen. Candidates should endeavor to appear as scheduled; requests for rescheduling will not be accepted,” the Permanent Secretary of the Education Service Commission went on to communicate.
“Candidates whose names do not appear on the list should consider themselves unsuccessful.”
Dr Lukwago also emphasized that services provided by Education Services Commission are free of charge – perhaps because he is mindful of allegations that some Education Service Commission officials sell jobs as reported Here.
