More Ugandan public universities have government admission lists for the national merit scheme in the 2026-2027 academic year. The latest lists include names of students admitted at Kabale University and Mountains of the Moon University on Government Sponsorship (National Merit) for 2026-2027 Academic Year.
The lists for the Kabale University were signed by Academic Registrar Narcicir Tibenderana and include students admitted on courses or academic programs such as Bachelor of Anaesthesia and Critical Care Medicine, Bachelor of Civil Engineering, Bachelor of Computer Science and Bachelor of Electrical Engineering.

For the lists released by the Office of the Academic Registrar at Mountains of the Moon University, students were admitted on courses or academic programs such as Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Bachelor of Science in Public Health, Bachelor of Nursing Science, Bachelor of Environmental Health Science, as well as Bachelor of Science in Aquaculture and Water Resources Management.

It should be remembered that every year, Government of Uganda sponsors about 4,000 students to pursue different academic programs or courses at public universities.
But over 70 per cent of those scholarships have been reserved for science-based courses or academic programs.
Apart from Kabale University and Mountains of the Moon Universities, other public universities include Makerere University, MUBS, Gulu University, Kyambogo University, Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST), Muni University, Lira University, and Soroti University.
