By Joseph Masereka
The Minister of State for ICT and National Guidance, Godfrey Kabbyanga Baluku, has completed his Master’s Degree in Economic Policy and Planning at Makerere University.
The minister graduated at the ongoing 75th graduation ceremony at Makerere, by the end of which 13,658 students will have been awarded degrees and diplomas in different disciplines.
Of these, a total of 143 graduands will graduate with PhDs, 1,813 with Master’s degrees, 11,454 with Bachelor’s degrees and 243 with postgraduate diplomas.
In a post via X (formerly Twitter), Kabbyanga could not hide his excitement over the achievement of completing his Master’s study at Uganda’s oldest and most renowned university.
“I am happy to share that I have completed my Master’s Degree from the prestigious Makerere University,” Kabbyanga posted.
He acknowledged the critical support he received from his family, mentors, and colleagues throughout his academic pursuit.
He mentioned Prof. Ibrahim Okumu, a prominent academic at Makerere University, and Dr. Peter Babyenda, an expert in the field of economics, who he said had provided valued guidance and mentorship during his studies.
Interestingly, Kabbyanga master’s degree was conferred and graced by fellow politician, Dr Chrispus Kiyonga, the chancellor of Makerere University, whom he is set to battle with in the forthcoming general election for the seat of Bukonzo West constituency in Kasese district.
It should be remembered that Minister Kabbyanga has previously said that he is ready to die fighting for President Yoweri Museveni and ensuring that he gets him votes to extend his rule beyond 40 years in power, as reported Here.
Back to Makerere University graduation, today, Wednesday, January 15, 2025, students from Makerere University Business School (Mubs) will start graduating. See full list of Mubs students graduating today and tomorrow in the full 75th graduation booklet Here.
