Museveni appoints son Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba SFC Commander; Deputy IGP Sabiiti Muzeeyi fired

President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni has appointed his son Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba Special Forces Command (SFC) Commandant.

Lt Gen Kainerugaba previously commanded the SFC.

His father ordered him to retain his job as senior advisor on special operations.

Museveni also fired Deputy IGP Maj Gen Sabiiti Muzeeyi, replacing him with Gen Paul Lokech.

Gen James Birungi will leave SFC to replace Gen Loketch on special duties in South Sudan.

Maj Gen Sabiiti Muzeyi has been sent to military headquarters for redeployment.

Loketch’s appointment will await parliamentary approval while military appointments will take immediate effect.
