President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni’s Government has agreed to increase the salary of Dr Henry Mwebesa, the director general of health services days after he fired all striking medical interns.
On December 10, Dr Mwebesa ordered all striking medical interns to vacate hospital premises to pave way for a fresh batch.
But the interns have threatened to sue the director general.
Now, days after Dr Mwebesa fired striking medical interns, it has emerged that his salary has been raised by Shs14m.
The director general has been pocketing Shs9m every month but will now smile to the bank to pick Shs23m every 30 days.
Mwebesa’s salary increment takes effect in the next financial year (2022-2023).
