NEW SCHOOL CALENDAR OUT: See reopening dates after partial lockdown, guidelines on school fees

Uganda’s Ministry of Education and Sports has announced tentative reopening dates for schools and other education institutions as government moves to revise the school calendar.

The school calendar revision and new tentative reopening dates follow the institution of a new partial lockdown after a surge in Covid19 cases occasioned by new strains.

P7, S4 and P6 plus P5 & P4 learners completed their 2020 Academic year and are waiting for their next levels of education once schooling resumes. 

Learners of P1, 2 &3 are slated to report back to schools on July 19th 2021and their term is slated to climax on 3rd September 2021. 

Primary 6, S3 & 5 students will also report on July 19th 2021 to complete their adjusted term that is slated to end on September 3rd. 

Senior one students will report back on July 19th and their term ends on 13th August 2021.

Form two students will report on July 19th 2021 and break off on September 3rd. 

Fresh academic year 2021 will then commence on September 20th 2021 and learners will be automatically promoted basing on attendence.

Senior One and Senior Two students who had paid to pay no additional fees when schools reopen.

P6, S3 and S5 to pay not more than 60 per cent of the fees for the special term.

P1, P2 and P3 to pay normal school term fees.
